Looking into the water stained mirror, I sometimes sob at myself; at my prolonged face and limited features. The tiny water droplets that I smeared on the mirror would slowly drip down, etching its reminder on the clear square glass, just like the anxiety that prowled within my head. She *pause* was reckless.

Trying out new clothes, I refuse to accept that anything looks good on me except for long loose T-shirts and cliched jeans. ‘You dont look like her in that, you look like you’, she would say. And when I would agree with her and gruff in disgust at myself, she would award me with an extra hour of fast paced overthinking.

Swiping through my socials, I would desire to *pose* like, to *dress* like her, to *be* like her. But I could never be someone I’m not. I could never look at the camera and look precious. She would support me against myself, her nods leaving scars on my heart.  I could never act like a different person. But then again, isn't that what I’ve been doing all along?

Accepting your flaws, embracing your curves or your lines, improving your talents, finding your purpose.

I can’t get you to change your mind unless *you* decide to change/broaden your perceptions. Reading out positive affirmations from someone else’s pinterest board will have a temporary affect on you I promise, but if you want to heal those scars that you created, if you want to wake up feeling fresh and glowy, if you want to inhale raw air and feel like your actually living, YOU’VE GOT TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.

When a stranger like me, randomly puts together words to make *BAZINGA* things you've thought of, I’m not making revelations. But simply telling you that you've got to give yourself some time. Your mornings will never be as aesthetic as highschool youtubers make it look like until you appreciate what's around you rather than what's not around you. You might not have boba or cheesecake or some other scrumptiously delicious food around all the time but be thankful that you at least have that someone to make something for you. I’m sorry if this is cringey but you’ve got to understand how lucky you are. Your weights may drop, rise, remain the same, don't cry over it. Work even harder. Someone you know might look like they have their shit together. You can do one out of the three things: (All of them work btw)

Envy their talents or be jealous of their worth, this gives you more time to cry over yourself, sit in a fetus-like position in the corner of the room, and so much more fun things!

Go, “Nahh no wayy she is as complicated as I am”

OR, try and get your shit together.

Accept your flaws, embrace your curves and your lines, improve your talents, and find your purpose.

With that said, I’d like to say, you own yourself. Not your anxiety, not the people around you, but yourself. This puts you in a very scary position because you have the right and possibly the freedom to do whatever you want to do. So dream big, soar high, sing “baby i'm a firework” and GIVE YOURSELF TIME because I cannot stress on that enough.

On this note we have a professional speaker and author, Dr. Pamela Gurley from United States! She'll be talking about mental health and well being for our second episode!
