Imagine a world where no one dreams. Imagine waking up to a world where everything and everyone would keep repeating themselves so religiously that there’d be no point for a clock or time. Waking up to a bleak, dull world where people lead such boring lives that the only interesting thing that would happen to them is when they wither and die. A life with no rays of sunshine, quick hints of brewing coffee, and old vinyl tapes. A life without music, color, or benefit. Exactly. If people stopped dreaming, envisioning, believing, you wouldn’t be reading this, I wouldn't be writing this, we wouldn't be tapping away on our gaming keyboards, ordering McDonald's, or watching Friends for the 100th time! Life would have been so amusingly boring. Uncomplicatedly complicated. Lifelessly lifeful. If all the people in the past had “just been like everyone else”, in the present, “be like everyone else” and in the future, “should be like everyone else”, we wouldn't have had the resources and availability we have today. If all the people had stopped dreaming, and forced themselves to be normal like the vast majority, do you think we would have had Lion King, Mac n Cheese, or air fryers now? Dreaming is a free ability. You don't have to be born talented or practice every day to be a dreamer. It’s effortless. But it takes time, talent, and determination to make those dreams a reality. If you think about it, dreams are the fuel that sets a man to do glorious things. If Disney had shunned his doodles in a drawer or called him crazy for what he was doing, childhood would have been pointless. If Rowling had stopped trying because of the unfair world around her, we would have never believed in magic like we do today. If all the dreamers stopped dreaming, the world would have never known the meaning of legacies, time would have trapped us all in a never-ending, inescapable loop, and life would have no purpose. If all the world stopped dreaming, there would be no happily dissatisfied sleep-deprived dreamers. Here’s a friend who never stopped dreaming.
